Think of it like the difference between Western and Eastern medicine: Western medicine often focuses on treating the specific symptom—if there's a headache, treat the head; if there's an itch, treat the skin. It is fast and the effect could be seen immediately. Eastern medicine, on the other side, looks at the whole system, such as acupuncture. That same headache might stem from a weakness in the stomach, or the itch might be linked to unaddressed emotional fear. It takes longer to see the effect of the treatment, but it could fix the original cause. ASG believes healing often requires both perspectives. If there's a tumor, we may need the immediacy of Western intervention, but we also need to understand the underlying imbalance that allowed it to grow—so we can strengthen the whole system and prevent it from returning.
